Main Goal
To introduce architects and related professions to climate- and water-sensitive design principles for cities across various climatic regions, and to develop engineering strategies for resilient, adaptable construction systems under climate-related stresses (heatwaves, flooding, wind, extreme events).

Main Skills Acquired
- Analyse the structural and environmental performance of buildings under climate-related stresses
- Understand how construction systems, building geometry and engineering decisions shape resilience and climate adaptation
- Identify and evaluate vernacular constructive logics relevant for contemporary resilience strategies
- Use Dynamic Thermal Simulation (DTS) and airflow modelling to evaluate passive cooling, indoor comfort, and resilience to overheating
- Develop engineering strategies for adaptive retrofitting: consolidation, stability upgrades, moisture control, anti-flood measures, wind protection
- Propose nature-based solutions to design more sustainable and resilient cities
